Ribbons of Tenacity

Well Hello Badasses,

I have been working on this project for about 3 or 4 months at this point and I am SO excited to share with you the beginning phases of this process. I know it’s a tad cliche because almost everyone who goes through this wants to make a difference, wants to start a blog, and wants to help people. I am no different in that aspect and I truly think writing my raw, unfiltered, and sometimes vulgur feelings has helped at least one person. I don’t want everything to be about Hodgkins Lymphoma or even just about cancer. I want to spread awareness and create a place for people to share their thoughts and feelings of ANY and EVERY kind. After months of researching, googling, word play, late night thoughts, and A LOT of notebooks I came up with Ribbons of Tenacity. Why? Because when I wear my ribbon of purple for Hodgkins Lymphoma I wear it with pride. I wear it to let people know they’re not alone. I share it to hear success stories and to relate to people who know exactly what I’m going through. But this isn’t just about me this is about YOU and what YOU’RE going through. The logo is a purple/pink ombré to represent two of the most important women in my life. My mom who is a 14 year Breast Cancer survivor (Survivor goals for sure) and my grandma who is my guardian angel who passed away from Pancreatic cancer when I was a toddler. This is a blog and a place for anyone and everyone. Not even those suffering but those who take care of us, those who want to be there for us, those who want to better educate themselves on how to help someone with cancer. This is all for you. I am in the process of still building this website because I am doing it on my own and I only have so many good days with limited energy but it’s a work in progress. I am also in the process of something else really exciting but you’ll have to stay tuned for that. I wanted to do this because well writing is my greatest escape and there is absolutely no better feeling in the world than knowing someone who gets EXACTLY what you’re going through. I am so incredibly grateful for all the support you guys have given me during this time and I hope you enjoy all the things coming your way. Also if you ever want me to talk about a specific topic that you feel isn’t talked about enough don’t hesitate to ask. I’m all about talking about things that I feel don’t get enough attention and I will gladly do it.

Hi! I'm Meagan Bechtold. I am a 26 year old fighting Hodgkins Lymphoma. I decided to start a blog because writing has always been the best outlet for me to express how I'm feeling and what I'm going through. I also started this in hopes of helping anyone going through cancer and chemotherapy, or just wants to follow along with my journey! I have an amazing husband Chris and we have been together for about 9 years and married a year and a half he is honestly my best friend and my biggest supporter! We do not have any kids yet but we have our two fur babies who we absolutely adore. I hope you guys enjoy my posts, and hopefully I can make a difference!

  1. Hi Meagan, I’m Kacey! I follow you on Instagram and saw you just shared your blog. I’ve read through alot of your posts already. I am now cancer free for the past month. I’m 27 now but was 26 when I was diagnosed, and I also had hodgkins lymphoma which is how I found you on insta. Just wanted to say I am cheering for you. You already know this, but this stupid fucking disease is beatable and you will do it. I know it is hard, but you’ve got this!! Feel free to add me on insta if you ever want to chat!
